Dairy farmer advances to Olympic semi-finals

A dairy farmer has advanced to the Olympic semi-finals.  Vermont’s Elle Purrier St. Pierre finished third in her heat for the women’s 15-hundred meter race.  The professional runner says she misses the cows when she’s away.  She also told National Milk’s Dairy Defined podcast milk is part of her training diet. “Everything in there is going to help me do better. You know, it’s got the perfect ratio of carbs and protein when you add the chocolate and just so many vitamins and minerals. It’s kind of crazy what a great resource it is.”

Before the Olympics, Purrier St. Pierre ran a record-setting 4:16 indoor mile and a record 9:10 two-mile this year.  She will compete again in the Olympic 1500-meter semifinals Wednesday, August 4th in Japan.
