Kickoff event for 75th Alice in Dairyland raises money for community food projects

The first event leading up to Wisconsin’s 75th Alice in Dairyland was also a fundraiser for helping the food insecure.

Ag Secretary Designee Randy Romanski tells Brownfield the Dinner in Dane event at the J. Henry farm and bourbon manufacturing site will help area families stay fed. “Some of the proceeds from this evening are going to an organization that’s taking efforts to make sure that people have access to food no matter what their means are.

Romanski says the Alice in Dairyland application period starts in January with a new Alice selection in May. “There’s a little bit of time to get to there, but you know, a lot of it is working with the sponsors, working out all of the programmatic and training components that go along with it, and then we’ll be selecting an Alice, and then the new Alice I believe will start next year in July.”

Dane County will host the finals for the 75th Alice in Dairyland at Monona Terrace in Madison
