The "Hype houses" of TikTok influencers have been getting a lot of attention recently - especially during the pandemic. The decked out mansions seem designed to be backdrops for attention-seeking teens making thousands of dollars for their oft-cringey content. While their chlorophyll water and viral dance moves in sunlit, many-windowed homes garner eyerolls, they're absolutely sane compared to this TikTok showcasing the terrifying squalor of anNYC mansion housing 16 self-described entrepeneurs.

Twitter user @gawkscid shared the offensive video on Thursday, revealing a hellhole of couples sharing bedrooms with single people, people sleeping in lofted areas that are meant for storage, and even a Harry Potter-style nook that's fashioned into a sleeping area equipped only with a blanket. It's incredible to us that these young people manage to turn a gorgeous brownstone into a glorified tenement, and the internet seems to strongly agree with our disbelief. The TikTok is getting roasted and toasted by the critical minds of Twitter, and we've gotta say we're enjoying it. If this living situation is any hint at our future, we want no part of it.
