Report: Kansas City Chiefs' Frank Clark charged with felony possession of an assault weapon

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was charged Friday by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office with felony possession of an assault weapon stemming from a March incident, a spokesperson for the office told The Kansas City Star.

Per the Star, Clark and another man were arrested March 13 by the California Highway Patrol after officers discovered a loaded handgun and loaded rifle in their car following a traffic stop.

The arraignment for Clark — who could face up to three years in prison if convicted — is set for July 14, the L.A. County District Attorney's office spokesperson told the Star.

Clark, 28, was also arrested in Los Angeles in June for allegedly possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle. The investigation into that case remains ongoing.

The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end is entering his third season with the Chiefs and helped Kansas City to victory in Super Bowl 54 following the 2019 season. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted him in the second round in 2015.
