ASA applauds bipartisan infrastructure framework

The American Soybean Association says they’re thankful the White House and a group of senators negotiating an infrastructure agreement have reached a deal on a framework.

ASA president Kevin Scott, a grower in South Dakota says the association has long-supported many of the investments in the package including ports, waterways, highways, bridges and broadband.

He says they’re thankful the framework does NOT include tax provisions that would negatively impact farmers and their families, such as drastic changes to stepped-up basis.

Scott says they’ll work with the White House and Congress as the details of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework are developed to advance investments in infrastructure without putting a tax burden on farmers.
