Ethanol production, stocks tick higher

U.S. ethanol production and stocks moved higher last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production average 1.048 million barrels a day, up 23,000 on the week and 155,000 on the year.

The Renewable Fuels Association says net inputs for refiners and blenders and the volume of gasoline supplied to the market were higher than both the previous week and this time last year.

Stocks hit a thirteen-week high at 21.12 million barrels, an increase of 518,000 from the week before and 96,000 from a year ago.

The RFA says the first reported ethanol imports of 2021 arrived on the West Coast last week, averaging 20,000 barrels a day.

The USDA says Midwest ethanol prices were mostly lower last week.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out July 12th.
