Poll shows Renewable Fuel Standard is gaining support

A recent poll conducted by the Renewable Fuels Association reflects growing support for the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Ken Colombini with RFA says a sample of nearly 1,100 registered voters responded to questions about ethanol, biofuels, and the RFS.

“One thing that kind of struck us especially this time around is that voter support for the RFS hit its highest levels in at least five years.”

He tells Brownfield 64 percent of respondents said they support the RFS, with about 30 percent expressing strong support.

“And this went across party lines actually because among registered voters, 76 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of Republicans supported the RFS. Those who call themselves independents also came in at 57 percent in support of the RFS.”

RFA CEO Geoff Cooper says the poll demonstrates that even in times of political division and polarization, the need for cleaner, greener American-made fuels is a uniting issue.
