Coroner IDs woman killed in head-on crash that closed Route 30 Saturday night

The Lancaster County coroner has identified Latoia E. Williams, 41, of York as the woman killed in a Route 30 crash in West Hempfield Township on Saturday, according to Lancaster Online. 

The crash left six others injured and part of Route 30 closed for nearly 5 hours Saturday night.

West Hempfield Township Police said a preliminary investigation showed that a silver Chrysler 200 was traveling east on Route 30 near the Malleable Road overpass at around 6:15 p.m. when it crossed the median and struck a Kia Spectra head on in the westbound lane. The Chrysler continued through the roadway and ended up against an embankment.

Williams, passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two occupants were flown to Hershey Medical Center and four others were transported to local hospitals.

There was no word on the condition of those treated at area hospitals.

That section of Route 30, which is just east of the Susquehanna River, was closed in both directions for several hours. The roadway was completely open around 11 p.m.
