NY Legislature Voting Bills Pased This Session


The New York 2021 Legislative Session officially ended, last week.

Here’s Bills Passed by both Houses:

S04306-B/ A05424A: Enacts the "Make Voting Easy Act"; which Requires that every County has enough Early Voting Places Open for long enough Hours to meet Voter Demand

S06395A/A04186-B: Provides an Online Absentee Ballot Tracking System to allow a Voter who has Submitted an Absentee Ballot Application to Track the Status of the Application and then eventually Ballot on the State Board or Local Board Website.

A06046/S06379: Solidifies a System of Electronic Applications for Absentee Ballots.

A06970A/S06482-B: Establishes an Online Absentee Ballot Request, available for All New Yorkers.

- Voting Rights for People on Parole: Permanently, Automatically Restoring Voting Rights to New York Citizens returning Home from Periods of Incarceration, now a Law.

- Same-Day Registration, Passed Twice, now on the November 2021 Ballot. If passed, Voters will be able to Register and Vote on Election Day.

- Vote-by-Mail, Ppassed Twice, now on the November 2021 Ballot. No Eligible Voter should have to provide a Reason to be able to Vote Absentee.
