Arkansas crops: 68% rice, 63% soybeans rated good to excellent

Many Arkansas farmers continue to battle excessive moisture and flooding.  Thirteen percent of the corn is silking and 68% rated good to excellent.  Cotton is 95% emerged with 81% rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are 95% emerged with 95% rated good to excellent, and 4% pegging.  Rice is 98% emerged with 68% rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 87% planted and 82% emerged, and 19% blooming, with 63% rated good to excellent. 

Twenty-nine percent of the winter wheat is harvested.  Hay cutting is 45% complete and rated 49% good.  Pastures are rated 57% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 98% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 94% adequate to surplus.
