SD crops mostly fair to good

Eighty-five percent of South Dakota’s corn crop is in fair to good condition

Emergence is ahead of average at nearly 100%.

Soybean condition is also 85% fair to good with emergence well ahead of last year and the average at 94%.

Forty-two percent of winter wheat is very poor to poor.

Spring wheat is 74% fair to good and 45% has headed.

South Dakota pasture conditions continue to worsen – with 54% very poor to poor.

Most of the state ranges from abnormally dry to extreme drought, according to the latest Drought Monitor.
