Goodfellow Air Force Base to conduct active shooter exercise this week, traffic delays expected

Goodfellow Air Force Base is conducting an active shooter exercise the week of May 17, 2021.

SAN ANGELO — Goodfellow Air Force Base is conducting an active shooter exercise the week of May 17, 2021. 

Public affairs at GFAB said the exact dates have not been set, but the training will be held several days this week. 

Residents on or near Goodfellow may hear announcements over the “giant voice” system, hear sirens and see response vehicles during the drill, according to a news release.

"All assigned personnel, dependents and visitors are required to take appropriate actions," the release stated.

Motorists may experience delays entering and exiting the installation during the exercise.

Please plan to arrive early for appointments and call in advance to ensure appointments and services are on as scheduled.
