EPA issues second emergency fuel waiver

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan has issued a second emergency fuel waiver in response to shortages caused by the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline. 

The waiver removes requirements for low volatility conventional gasoline and Reformulated Gasoline in several East Coast and Southeastern states through May 31st

The EPA says the Clean Air Act allows Regan to waive certain fuel requirements to address shortages in consultation with the Department of Energy. 

The emergency fuel waiver includes the District of Columbia, Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and areas of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida and Virginia.
