AFBF, NFU, NCGA like 30×30 report

The nation’s two leading farmer groups support President Biden’s 30×30 “America the Beautiful” initiative report saying it considers the contributions farmers and ranchers have made for conservation.

American Farm Bureau says the report goes out of its way to recognize the concerns agriculture has raised saying it identifies “important principles” that they can agree with like incentive-based and voluntary conservation, personal property rights and continued ranching on public lands.

National Farmers Union president Rob Larew says they are glad to have clarity from the administration “and look forward to continued collaboration with the administration to ensure these principles are followed.”

National Corn Growers Association president John Linder says they are pleased with the emphasis on voluntary conservation measures.

The report outlines what it describes as locally-led, voluntary efforts to conserve 30-percent of U.S. lands and waters by 2030.
