Reading Lately

As usual I need to catch up on my TBR. I have Netgalley books that need reading and challenge books I missed in April. Unfortunately, May is a really busy month for me with end of academic year stuff! I’m going to give it my best effort though. Here’s what I’m starting with…

I didn’t get to Hunted, Darcy Coates last month for #SpringIntoHorror so I’m going to read that straight away.

She only went off the trail for a moment. Eileen goes missing while hiking in the remote Ashlough Forest. Chris wants to believe Eileen is still alive. When the police search is abandoned, he and four of his friends create their own search party to scour the mountain range. As they stray further from the hiking trails and the unsettling discoveries mount, they begin to believe they’re not alone in the forest… and that Eileen’s disappearance wasn’t an accident.

Also, my hold copy of Fugitive Telemetry, Martha Wells came in at the library and I couldn’t wait one second to dive into it.

When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people—who knew?) Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans!

What are you reading this week?

“Hunted” sounds great! Thank you! My May TBR pile is already getting to be quite daunting but that’s never stopped me before – lol!
My first book of May was “Lucky King” by Bruce Henderson and I could NOT put it down. “What if the fortunes in fortune cookies came true?” Such a cool concept! I also enjoyed how it was written in that it’s from multiple character’s perspectives including the Lucky King himself (he writes the fortunes that predict the future!). The book feels super realistic yet it has some really unique supernatural elements to it. Overly conservative and shit stirrer DJ Jack DuVal lives a life of luxury and without consequence until he decides to get Chinese and reads his fortune – “YOU WILL LOSE WHAT YOU TREASURE MOST”  This book is full of exciting twists and turns and I can’t recommend it enough. Happy reading! Maybe this can make it on June’s TBR list! Here is the website in case you want to check it out – http://www.brucegriffinhenderson.com/
