Lansing police investigate homicide after 60-year-old man shot, killed

LANSING — Police have identified a man who was shot and killed late Wednesday in Lansing as Larry Willis Fields, 60, of Lansing.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Climax Street about 10:25 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound, Lansing police said in a news release. 

They tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the release. They released Fields' name in a separate release on Thursday afternoon. 

Investigators did not know the motive for the shooting but said there is no active threat to the public, according to the release.
