National FFA Secretary attends first in-person event
For the first time since being selected to the officer team last fall, the National FFA Secretary is attending a state convention.
Anna Mathis of Valley Springs, Arkansas is in Des Moines this week for the Iowa FFA Convention.
“This is my first in-person event, and each student here is making a place for me (and) welcoming me into their family. And I find myself adopting some of the practices of Iowa.”
She will also be attending state conventions in Indiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
Mathis tells Brownfield officials plan to make a definitive decision on the National FFA Convention next month.
“Right now we’re looking at ways to potentially host people in Indy.”
Mathis says the National FFA Convention, scheduled October 27th through the 30th in Indianapolis, will include virtual components either way.
