Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Sponsored by Pivot Bio PROVEN

Tuesday and Wednesday, freezes will extend as far south as northern Texas, the mid-South, and the lower Midwest, with the potential to cause freeze injury in jointing to heading winter wheat; a variety of fruits; and emerged summer crops. As the week progresses, frost and light freezes could also affect the interior Southeast and the mid-Atlantic, mainly Thursday and Friday. Before the coldest weather arrives, accumulating snow will fall in several areas, including the central Rockies and portions of the central Plains, lower Midwest, and interior Northeast. However, 5-day precipitation totals will be less than an inch nationwide, except for lingering heavy showers (locally 1 to 3 inches or more) across Florida’s peninsula and some late-week rain in the Mississippi Delta and neighboring areas. Although much of the country will experience unusually cool weather, consistent warmth will prevail in the Far West.
