Crews respond to fire at Simi Valley home

Crews with the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a fire burning in a Simi Valley home on Thursday evening.

The fire was reported at 5:07 p.m. in the 4500 block of Alamo Street.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find the one-story home with a well involved fire burning inside the residence and smoke emerging from the roof of the house.

Crews were conducting a search of the home for occupants while battling the fire. Authorities estimated firefighters to remain on scene for the next three hours.

The fire was declared knocked down by 5:40 p.m.
