XtendFlex soybean technology arrives on Nebraska farm

It’s the first year Roundup Ready XtendFlex soybeans are commercially available to farmers.

Blake Dunaway of Orleans, Nebraska says he chose them for their flexibility in weed control. “You have more modes of action in this soybean, ya know, the cleaner the fields are going to get with all of the weeds we have to deal with so it’s pretty awesome to see them come out with another variety we have to choose from.”

Mike Hoxmeier with Asgrow says the triple-stacked soybeans give producers several options to manage their crop. “There are some growers out there who are planting XtendFlex varieties this year and have no intention on using glufosinate and there’s other growers who are planting XtendFlex soybeans that have no intention to use dicamba,” he says. “But it’s the fact that you have more options and can play it out throughout the season depending on what those needs are.”

XtendFlex soybeans are the industry’s first soybean containing tolerance to dicamba, glyphosate and glufosinate.
