Minnesota FFA Convention events will be “on-demand”

The 2021 Minnesota FFA Convention will be mostly virtual later this month.

FFA Foundation director Val Aarsvold says the dates are April 19th through the 23rd.

“The FFA events are kind of being considered on-demand, so throughout the convention we’re going to see where people can access and learn about our high-achieving students and the programs that are impacting them. Each day some various things will be released.”

She tells Brownfield one aspect of the convention that will be live involves the state officer team traveling to different locations to announce State Stars.

“So there will be a day when a student is sitting in their class and suddenly they will be announced and recognized as the Minnesota Star Farmer or Star in Agribusiness, so we’re trying to have some of those fun elements that are live.”

Aarsvold says that also gives the state officers an opportunity to go into communities where they’ve been providing great guidance and programming online, but haven’t been able to go into the school because of the pandemic.
