The spring 2021 edition of the School Watch newsletter is out now, featuring articles written by Ventura County high school students.

Now about halfway into the second semester of the school year, the articles focus on topics, including a reflection of a year in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zoom experience, thoughts following the storming of the U.S. Capitol and more.

Spring 2021 contributors are from the following student newspapers: Buena Speaks from Buena High School, The Cougar Press from Ventura High School, The Foothill Dragon Press from Foothill Technology High School, Panther Prowler from Newbury Park High School, Talon from Oak Park High School and The Stinger from Adolfo Camarillo High School.

The content of the newsletter, including articles, photos and illustrations, were produced by the students for their respective publications. The Star did not do any additional fact-checking.

The newsletter is part of a partnership between the Ventura County Star and newsrooms at high schools across the county. More on that here.

The spring 2021 edition is accessible here: https://issuu.com/schoolwatch/docs/school_watch_spring_final.

A third edition of the newsletter will be released at the end of the school year.

Note: If you are part of a Ventura County high school newspaper or journalism program at your school and would like to be involved, please email The Star's education reporter Shivani Patel at shivani.patel@vcstar.com.
