Missouri planting slows with rainfall

Missouri’s corn planting made some minor progress last week. The USDA says rainfall kept a number of farmers out of the field for most of the week. Topsoil moisture is 80 percent adequate and subsoil moisture is 80 percent adequate.

Corn planting progressed to eight percent complete, five percent ahead of last year.

Rice planting is underway with eight percent of the crop planted.
