Heff's Burgers, 2902 Sherwood Way, announced an opening date for the San Angelo location.

SAN ANGELO — A burger restaurant more than two years in the making has announced an opening date, according to an official with the company.

Heff's Burgers, which closed on June 6, 2018, will reopen with a newly constructed building at 2902 Sherwood Way.

The new location is scheduled to open May 10, 2021, according to Jackie Heath and Wyatt Hurt of Heff's Burgers. They will hire 35-45 employees and will begin interviews toward the end of April.

"We are so excited about coming back to San Angelo. We love this community and believe it's the perfect fit for our restaurant," Heath said. "We are bringing some new features to this location that will provide more to our customers than before, including a drive thru and a breakfast menu."

The path to creating their new location began in 2018, but had several delays due to COVID-19 and coordination.

"But, we are back on track, (and) feel comfortable with an early May opening," Heath said.
