This mixer has consistently been our top stand mixer choice through the years, even after multiple rounds of testing, for its easy-to-use features and top-notch performance—we called it a "pleasure to use" when whipping up everything from simple egg whites to highly chunky batters for cookies. It also has a slight edge over the brand's base Classic Plus' 4.5-quart stand mixer, ($279.99), for its large, 5-quart bowl and greater power output: The Artisan series has a 325-watt motor versus the Classic Series' 275 watts of power.
