Vilsack talks Families to Food Box program

In one of his first interviews since being confirmed as U.S. Ag Secretary, Tom Vilsack says a lot was learned from the Trump administration’s Farms to Families Food Box.

“This program highlighted, in some cases, circumstances and situations where perhaps the level of money paid for those who were putting boxes together was pretty significant. There was an imbalance between charges for putting these boxes together that I think raises the question and necessitates a review.”

He says purchases will continue through April while the program is reviewed, and the Biden administration will make adjustments throughout the food distribution chain if necessary.
