A grass fire burning near Rio Vista is causing major traffic issues on Highway 160 at Highway 12.

Rio Vista fire officials say firefighters are battling “multiple” grass fires along Highway 160. Smoke from those fires is causing visibility issues on the highways.

According to Caltrans District 4, one-way traffic controls are in place on Highway 160 and Highway 12. The fire has also briefly closed all traffic on the Rio Vista Bridge. The bridge was reopened around 5:10 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route or otherwise expect to be delayed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

A downed tree is also causing headaches on Highway 160, just to the northeast of the fire.

According to Caltrans District 3, that obstacle is near North Tyler Island Bridge Road. More delays are expected in this area.
