ALAMOGORDO – The Walmart locations in Alamogordo are providing COVID-19 vaccinations for people who meet the state requirements, expanding the available providers in New Mexico.

Phases 1A and 1B are currently eligible for the vaccine, which includes hospital personnel and first responders, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, people 75 and up and people 16 and up at risk of COVID-19 complications.

Eligible people who have registered through the state at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/ will be notified by the state and can then register for an appointment at their designated location. If that is a Walmart location, appointments can be made at Walmart.com/covidvaccine for the following Walmart locations:

  • Walmart Sueprcenter, 2401 Indian Wells Rd., Alamogordo
  • Walmart Supercenter, 233 S. New York Ave., Alamogordo

Appointments will be available based on the supply of vaccine in the area.

Customers should bring their insurance information, if they have insurance, to their appointment. Vaccine is free, but Walmart, like other vaccine providers, are billing insurance for the administration of vaccine. Individuals will not be charged.

After receiving the shot customers will need to wait in the area for at least 15 minutes to ensure they do not have a reaction.
