When going to shelters and listening to the stories of the animals in there, it's always hard hearing about the ones that have been picked up once then taken back. We understand how much hope followed by devastation these animals feel, and our animal-loving hearts want nothing more than to give these animals the forever home they deserve.
So, when we hear a story about an animal that has been returned to the shelter already finally finding its forever home, for us (and for the animal), the joy is doubled. Thank you to FactWino for sharing the story of his beautiful rescue puppy, and thank you to the internet for making it go viral and bringing it to our attention. We wish them the most amazing, long life together.

"She is a black-mouthed cur, a breed I had never heard of until I tracked down her breeder. Someone paid good money to leave this beautiful, amazing at the pound when he left town. We got her at about 1 year old.
This was the picture posted on the pound's website. She had been adopted and returned once already, and was terrified of being in the car. I think she associated it with being taken back to the pound."
Already, you can see the difference in her - with the lidded eyes and the easy calm. She seems so content to be with her new owner in her new home. They can feel it, we're sure, when they find the right place for themselves, and this is one happy pupper right here.
And this is what we all do this for. Every adoption, every rescue, every animal we take into our care - these are the moments that bring us the most joy in the world. Seeing them this happy is everything that we could ever want, and this belly up happy pose is all the proof we'd ever need that we are making our babies happy.
