[unpaid/purchase/affiliate/ad] Much as I love this stuff for giving me smooth and silky hair, I don’t love the application method which is by a nozzle. On the side of the bottle there is a bar that marks how much you should use for each dose, but my hair doesn’t need that much and I’m not sure that anyone else’s does either. You really only need a very small amount to get the results. As long as each strand of hair is coated, it’s fine.
The nozzle is just a bit too generous in output – and you end up using more than you need, while juggling a bottle, a palm full of watery essence and a shower. I’ve started decanting mine into a mister and solved all of the application issues in one (very cheap) go. It’s a much more controllable and effective way to coat the hair before waiting the allotted 8 seconds and rinsing away. I’ve also heard from a couple of people that it hasn’t worked on their very dry and bleached hair – you can use a conditioner afterwards if you think your hair needs it.

They’ve also brought out a version of this under the Dream Lengths range which I think is excellent, although haven’t tried this one to compare. Would be interested to see if you think there’s much difference between them.

This sounds interesting. Can you make any comparisons to the Olaplex range? Any similarities or are they totally different?
Olaplex 1 is a similar delivery method and a lot of reviews suggest decanting into a spray bottle instead which is what made me wonder. There’s the obvious price difference…
As I understand it, Olaplex has more of a mending action, whereas this doesn’t (in my view). I can’t remember if I’ve had a salon Olaplex (sorry… lockdown brain) so I don’t have a way to compare although I’ve spotted that Redken has a lamellar water too. Sorry, not all that helpful!
Thanks for the info! I haven’t tried this L’Oreal version. I’m in the US, but I have purchased Moremo, a K-beauty brand of lamellar water. It’s pretty stellar for shine and a dose of keratin, vitamins, etc. My hair is down to my waist; it’s fine in texture, but I have a ton of it. I still need some conditioner through the ends to help detangle and prevent snags, though.
Wow.. waist length hair is quite the achievement. Moremo is £36 here to buy on Amazon so I haven’t taken the plunge but you’ve made it sound tempting.
