Justin Turner announces he's returning to the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers

Free agent third baseman Justin Turner announced on Twitter on Saturday that he is returning to the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers. 

His Twitter message read: "Lettts gooo run it back @Dodgers fans!" 

The Dodgers have not yet confirmed the signing. 

Turner's deal with the Dodgers is for two years, $34 million, according to multiple reports. 

Turner's contract includes a club option for a third year that could raise the value to $48 million over three years. He will receive an $8 million signing bonus and can earn up to an additional $4 million in performance bonuses.

Turner, who's been with the Dodgers since 2014, slashed .307/.400/.460 last season with the Dodgers and helped them to their first World Series title since 1988. He exhibited dubious judgment in the ensuing celebration, though, appearing on the field after a positive COVID-19 test during Game 6.

With Turner returning to club, the Dodgers will have their entire starting lineup intact from last season. They also added reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer on a three-year, $102 million contract earlier this month.

Turner, 36, was the top free agent remaining, according to USA TODAY Sports' rankings.
