Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers says he's engaged in NFL MVP acceptance speech

Aaron Rodgers apparently got a ring after all. Yes, everyone else has already made that joke.

Rodgers was announced as the 2020 NFL MVP on Saturday night during the virtual NFL Honors presentation on CBS, and during his minute-long acceptance speech he went ahead and ... dropped some major news?

Rodgers indicated that he had gotten engaged at some point in 2020, and twice referred to his fiancee, though did not reveal their name.

Rodgers being engaged is news to Packers nation. His high-profile relationship with auto racer Danica Patrick was confirmed to have ended last summer after two years together.

His whole speech Saturday night was layered with intriguing nuggets.

"It's an honor to win this award for a third time," Rodgers began. Seems simple enough, right?

"2020 was definitely a crazy year, filed with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments, 180 days of having my nose hairs scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season. I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career."

Yes, he just casually dropped that in there. He then went on to thank teammates, coaches and a rapid-fire list of names ... was there a "Jodie Foster" in there? ... and he again mentioned his fiancee.

In closing, Rodgers encouraged "people to read books, to meditate, speak things to life, manifest the desires of your heart, question everything and spread love and positivity."
