MARTIN COUNTY — The Department of Health in Martin County will give out 900 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday and Friday, the agency announced Wednesday. By 1 p.m. Wednesday, all appointments were filled, county officials announced via text.

The registration for the two-day vaccination drive-thru event is being done online on Eventbrite, beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Registration will close once all 900 spots are filled.

Physician assistant Mary Ettari prepares to give James Law, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19, during a COVID-19 drive-thru vaccine clinic at the Florida Department of Health office in Martin County on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, in Stuart. Frontline heath care workers and residents ages 65 and older were eligible to be vaccinated.

These clinics are for the first dose of the Moderna vaccine.

This event is for senior citizens and for front line healthcare employees.

Wednesday morning, more than 9,000 people received text alerts and phone calls from Martin County Emergency Management. To be updated on future vaccination appointment information text MARTINVAX to 888777.

Later Wednesday, the Florida Department of Health in Martin County (DOH-Martin) has learned of fake Eventbrite sites posing as the Department of Health and offering appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. DOH-Martin has notified Eventbrite, as well as local and state law enforcement of these fake sites.

“The City of Stuart Police has been notified of this issue and we are working to confirm all legitimate reservations for our vaccination clinics on Thursday and Friday of this week,” said Carol Ann Vitani, DOH-Martin Health Officer.

DOH-Martin is scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments week to week, based on supply. The two vaccination clinics, which have already been booked up, will take place at 3441 SE Willoughby Blvd., Stuart.

Until this situation is resolved, DOH-Martin is suspending all online registration appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine via Eventbrite. Please monitor our website for information and updates: MartinCountyHealth.com.
