[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If anything beauty-wise is striking the right note just now in terms of trends and what we’re seeking, it’s these Crushed Shine Jelly Sticks. They’re buttery, translucent colour sticks that give a juicy sheen with low impact colour.
Candy Apple is the red shade and it’s a typical pink red from Bobbi rather than an orange red. Cranberry is a deeper pink berry colour. There are six shades with a neutral tone called Honey to look out for … I veer away from neutrals these days but still like a warm, nutty beige with plenty of shine to lift it.
My only slight bug-bear is the packaging is a bit confusing and I’ve already tried to put the bullet back in the wrong end and stubbed the tip. Both ends of the barrel are flat and you push the top end for the bottom end to come out – it feels counter-intuitive somehow.

I think these are such easy wears – especially for the weather, providing a balmy, nourishing feel with a dash of colour that looks and feels positive and lifts your smile with a quick slick. I saw these and thought they looked interesting…but the packaging is gimmicky and the price is steep! Even for Bobbi. Their recent lip oils were under 20 quid so this seems excessive.
They are expensive – I was surprised too .. but at the same time, they are a lovely formula. Packaging, not so much!
I have a few Guerlain lipsticks with a slide opening (first seen here!) – the bullet is ejected in the opposite direction of the slide. Counter intuitive and I still get it wrong every time!
Balmy lipcolour with a bit of impact sounds just right for now!
It’s amazing how conditioned we are to exactly the one way of opening lipstick! I have no doubt I’ll do it every single time for the next month!
