National Archives Receives Republican Slates of Presidential Electors from Five States

The Office of the National Archives received Alternate Slates of Electors from the GOP in 5 States: AZ; GA; NM; NV; and PA.

Those Slates were Not forwarded to Congress.

The Electoral Count Act allows them to only Pass along Slates Certified by the States.

The Act relegates Congress to Resolving only a Narrow Class of Disputes, such as:

- If a Governor has Certified Two Different Slates of Electors.

- A State Fails to Certify its Results.

- A Ministerial Error.

- If an Elector or Candidate are Ineligible for Office.

- If the Electoral College Votes were not Counted Properly.
