NYC 2021 RCV Council Special Elections


New York City will Start using Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) for Citywide Special Elections, Primary and General Elections in 2021.

The First RCV Special Election is on, Feb. 2nd, for a City Council Seat for the 24th District in Queens.

Candidates: Moumita Ahmed, Stanley Arden, James Gennaro, Neeta Jain, Dilip Nath, Deepti Sharma, and Mohammed Uddin,

New York City is holding a Special Election for a City Council Seat for the 31st District in Queens on February 23rd, 2021.

Candidates: Latoya Benjamin, Selvena Brooks-Powers, Monique Charlton, Latonya Collins, Alicia Hyndman, Franck Joseph, Nancy Martinez, Pesach Osina, Shaun Rux, and Manuel Silva

Then on March 23rd, there will be Special Elections for recently Vacated City Council Seats in the 11th and 15th Districts in the Bronx.

11th District Candidates: Eric Dinowitz, Jessica Haller, Abigail Martin, Daniel Padernacht, and Marcos Sierra.

15th District Candidates: Ischia Bravo, Elisa Crespo, and Oswald Feliz.

The Winners of the Special Elections will hold Office until the End of the Year.

The New York City Primary in June 22nd and General Election in November 2nd, is for the 2022-2025 Council Terms.

The June 22nd New York City Primary is for: Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough Presidents (5) and City Council.
