Christmas Eve shopping hours: Here's when Macy's, Kohl's, Target, Home Depot, GameStop and other stores close

If you are scrambling to buy that last-minute gift in the final minutes of the holiday shopping season, the shot clock is winding down quickly.

While many stores have extended hours in the days leading up to Christmas, almost all are closing early on Thursday.

Retailers are giving procrastinators a reprieve. More stores are offering same-day delivery and curbside pickup – services more have started offering during the coronavirus pandemic – so you may be able to pick up gifts without going into a store. Ordering deadlines apply and time slots are limited.

Target is offering same-day Christmas Eve delivery through Shipt on orders placed on the Target app or website as late as 5 p.m. Thursday. However, delivery times vary, so ordering early is advised. Amazon also has same-day delivery on Christmas Eve.

McDonald's free cookies:Get Santa's favorite treat on Christmas Eve with the restaurant's app. No purchase needed.

Walmart's cutoff to place orders for Christmas Eve delivery and pickup ended Wednesday, but there's an express delivery option to order by 1 p.m. Thursday for delivery in two hours or less pending availability. Orders need to be $35 or more.
