Counselors were made available to support the school community, and parents/guardians were given contact information should they need to reach out.

According to her obituary, Brianna had an affinity for the arts such as drawing and sketching. She loved animals and dreamed of having a zoo one day.

She had a fear of clowns, heights and needles. Her family would tease her about these fears, but loved seeing the drawings and art she would make.

In addition to her parents, Brianna is survived by two brothers, John Anthony Dorgan of New Bern and Zachary West of Key West; paternal grandparents, J. Michael and Michelle Dorgan of York; and maternal grandparents, Alfred and Margaret Nickerson of Dansville, N.Y.
