Regulatory approval given to cell-based cultured chicken

Singapore has approved the first ever regulatory allowance of meat cultured from animal cells.  San Francisco-based Eat Just, Inc. says its cultured chicken has been approved for sale as an ingredient in chicken bites, and they have developed additional cultured products.

The company says they have demonstrated a consistent manufacturing process for cultured chicken without the use of antibiotics to create meat with a significantly cleaner microbiological content than conventional chicken.

Eat Just also announced in October a different Singapore partnership with Proterra Investment Partners Asia, which focuses on their plant protein product production.
