Biden plans no immediate changes on China

President-elect Joe Biden says he will not make any immediate changes to tariffs on Chinese goods or the Phase One trade agreement when he takes office.

In an interview with the New York Times, Biden said wants to review existing agreements with China and then work allies in Asia and Europe to develop a “coherent strategy.”

Biden said “China’s abusive practices” need to be addressed. He said those include “stealing intellectual property, dumping products, illegal subsidies to corporations” and forced technology transfers.
