The Silos at Ellis Crossing are slated to be built along Lancaster Drive near where it intersects with Ellis Road.

A new apartment complex represents the next step forward for a growing pocket of southwestern Sioux Falls.

More than $11 million in estimated construction has been approved so far by City Hall as crews begin work on a nine-building multi-family project across the street from Frontier Elementary School of Tea public schools.

The Silos at Ellis Crossing will occupy the parcel of land on the southern boundary of Lancaster Drive, near where it intersects with Ellis Road.

Paperwork filed with the city of Sioux Falls shows the Silos campus will include multiple apartment buildings, detached garages and a clubhouse with a pool.

The builder is Lloyd Construction Co.
