Illinois winter wheat conditions improving

The final 2020 Crop Progress and Condition Report from the USDA highlighted an improvement in Illinois winter wheat conditions.

As of Sunday, 99% of the crop had emerged, four percentage points ahead of the five-year average. USDA rates Illinois winter wheat 79% good to excellent, a week to week increase of nine percentage points likely boosted by an increase in precipitation statewide.

The National Ag Statistics Service will continue with monthly reports through March with weekly reports returning in April 2021.
