LANSING — Five people were shot in Lansing in four separate incidents over the long holiday weekend, police said.

None of the five victims suffered life-threatening injuries, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, Lansing police found an injured 13-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy in the 2300 block of Risdale Avenue, Merritt said. Both teenagers had been shot in the leg. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The teens were together when they were shot and they did not cooperate with police, Merritt said. Officers found a shooting scene in a nearby parking lot.

Later Friday night, at 11:13 p.m., Lansing police were called about a 48-year-old man who had been shot in the 100 block of Garden Street, Merritt said.

Several witnesses gave conflicting statements and the victim did not cooperate with police, Merritt said.

Investigators believe the victim was arguing with someone and was shot by a third person several times, Merritt said. The person the victim was arguing with and the accused shooter fled in a Chevrolet Tahoe, he said. There is no description of the two people.

On Sunday just after midnight, Lansing police were notified of a man who walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound, Merritt said.

The victim, 24, told police he drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the 4400 block of Seaway Drive, Merritt said. He told police he was outside when he heard a gunshot and felt something strike his upper arm.

The bullet grazed his arm, Merritt said. Officers were not able to find evidence of a shooting on Seaway, he said.

At 4:45 p.m. Sunday, police found a 35-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her upper body in the 3600 block of Bayview Drive, Merritt said. Her injury was not life-threatening.

Police believe she was struck by a stray bullet from a shooting in a nearby parking lot, Merritt said. A stray bullet also struck a gas line, which was repaired by Consumers Energy.

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings and police are looking for information. Anyone with details on the shootings can contact the Lansing Police Department at 517-483-4600.
