Two systems come together Monday morning. Surface low pressure southeast of the area is packing the precipitation. Rain fell overnight and early Monday morning.
Meanwhile upper level energy is settling in from the northwest and will dig into central Indiana by afternoon. That will help lower temperatures to around freezing by late afternoon, and give snow showers a chance to accumulate.
A lake effect snow band looks to set up, providing a chance of 1-2 inch accumulation east of I-65 north of Indy, and north of I-74 east of Indy.
