Gusty wind, possible thunderstorms today as temperature turns colder

The National Weather Service at State College has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Central Pennsylvania including York, Adams, Lancaster, Lebanon, Franklin and Cumberland Counties for today and again on Tuesday.

Wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph are likely today in the wake of a cold front passing. There could be higher gusts over 50 mph within a narrow line of thunderstorms that may form along the cold front.

The NWS goes on to say that Lake effect snow with "a few to several inches of accumulation" is probable late Monday night through early Wednesday across the northern part of the region.

The combination of accumulating snow and gusty winds may result in travel disruptions.

Gusty winds winds of 30 to 40 mph are expected across the region again on Tuesday.
