[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s ages since I’ve seen any Lancome make-up – last summer, I think, so was very happy when this little collection turned up. I like that they keep returning to their emblem – the rose – acting as a thread to tie everything together.
I’m never quite sure about making flowers angular – although there is something very icy-landscape about this so it seems right for the moment. It’s a highlighter – obviously – with a holo finish.. lots of iridescence and glow.
The undulations show off the shade-shifting really well although I realise I haven’t quite caught it with my camera – think pastel pinks and blues. The chunky lid reflects every single colour around it so its really eye-catching especially if there is a peep of sunlight on it. It’s £35 (I thought it would be more).

There are two lipsticks – existing shades No.274 (Coeur de Rubis) and No.473 (Rubie) – shaped into a faceted crystal bullet. They’re in a creme finish and are highly pigmented although personally, I’m not keen on faceted lipsticks because they’re just not as easy to apply accurately (or swatch!). They’re £27 each. I find that Rubie has a blue undertone which marks it out from most of the seasonal reds I’ve seen which tend to err warm and orange.
The eyeshadow palette also has the chunky, light-hit resin top. I was trying to work out what the green reflection is because I don’t have that shade anywhere in my kitchen where I take my pictures, but I think the underlay over which the resin sits is that colour with pink shifts. I need to pull out my Cosmetic Science book and re-read the chapter on light refraction and reflection!
There’s really a nice selection of colours – especially if you look at the palette as a set of duos excluding the two ends which are highlight or base shades.
In the swatch, it’s Pinkish Gold, Dark Brown Matte, True Gold Sparkling, Silver Blue, Warm Nude, Burnt Red Sparkling, Dazzling Pink, Light Burgundy Matte and Luminous Pink. It’s £45, which again, is less than I thought it would be. You can find everything HERE, non affiliate HERE. This collection has a fairly timeless colour selection – if I saw the shades out of context, I’d find it hard to date them … that said, it did give me the glamour feels.
