Fifty-three people tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the Joint Information Center.

The new cases bring Guam's overall total to 4,681 confirmed cases, including 79 deaths, 1,936 cases in active isolation, and 2,666 people no longer in isolation.

Saturday's results are from samples collected on Oct. 30. The 53 new positive cases are from 423 samples collected on Friday. 

Two GDOE Employees Test Positive

Also on Saturday, the Guam Department of Educationreceived notification that two GDOE employees tested positive for COVID-19. These cases were identified at Agana Heights Elementary School and the GDOE Tiyan headquarters.

The Guam DOE is working closely with the Department of Public Health and Social Services to conduct contact tracing and any close contacts of the confirmed cases will be contacted directly. Areas of the campuses and offices will be cleaned and disinfected as needed. Hard copy packet and food distribution will not be interrupted, according to the release.
