Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Sponsored by Pivot Bio PROVEN

A winter-like storm crossing southern sections of the Plains will drift eastward, generating snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain through mid-week across a broad area. Although wintry weather across the southern Plains will cause some travel disruptions and increase livestock stress, moisture will be highly beneficial for drought-stressed rangeland, pastures, and winter wheat. Meanwhile, Zeta should be a hurricane or strong tropical storm upon arrival late Wednesday along the Gulf Coast—most likely in southeastern Louisiana. The interaction between Zeta and the winter-like storm and should result in heavy rain from the Gulf Coast northward into the Ohio Valley and eastward into the central and southern Appalachians. Meanwhile, much of the northern and western U.S. will remain dry during the next 5 days, although the wildfire threat in California should decrease as winds diminish. However, warmth will gradually return across the West, while chilly conditions will cover much of the remainder of the country.
