Coroner identifies woman killed in single-vehicle crash in Carroll Township

Update: The coroner later identified the driver as 40-year-old Rebecca Melvin, of Cumberland County. Cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma. 

Initial report: A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Carroll Township. 

The woman was driving in the area of Williams Grove Road and York Road at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Monday when she lost control of her vehicle.

The vehicle then hit a tree, and the woman was killed on impact, according to a news release from the York County Coroner's Office. 

There were no other passengers in the car at the time of the crash. The name of the woman will be released Tuesday once next of kin have been notified.

An autopsy will not be performed, but a routine toxicology was obtained.
