Trunk or Treat: Annual 'Halloween Treat Trail' attracts costumed crowd

An undead T-Rex, Venom Captain America and a Purge Bunny were just a few of the costumes worn by trick-or-treaters during the recent annual "Halloween Treat Trail" event in York.

Throughout the evening, over 100 children visited the York YMCA parking lot, where staff handed out candy, popcorn, granola bars and other sweet treats from the trunks of their cars.

Some children dressed up in their scariest Halloween costumes to collect candy during the annual Halloween Treat Trail event in the parking lot of the York YMCA.

Visitors of all ages took their time navigating the parking lot, showing off their scariest, and sometimes cutest, costumes before filling their buckets, pillow cases or pockets with their tasty spoils.

The York YMCA and Uptown York Rotary Club sponsored the event and required everyone to wear masks and stay socially distanced as much as possible.

“We’re excited to provide this annual event once again this year in a safe and fun way for those in our community," YMCA Youth, Family and Sports Director Doug Markel said in a news release.
